If you wish to permanently delete your Journya account, you are in the right place.
This page explains how to delete your account and what happens to your data afterward.
Deleting your account will remove your profile, journal entries, mood data, and all associated information from our systems.
Once the deletion process is completed, this data cannot be recovered.

You can request deletion in one of the following ways:
Open the Journya App
Navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account
Confirm using your password or biometric authentication
You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete
Send an email to pr*****@*****ya.com
Use the subject line: “Account Deletion Request”
Include your registered email address and (optional) reason for deletion
You will receive confirmation once your data has been erased
Fill out the form below (if enabled) to initiate a deletion request.
You will receive an email confirmation once your identity is verified.
For your protection, deletion requests are verified through your registered email address.
Once verified, your account and all associated data are permanently deleted within 30 days.
During this period, your account is deactivated and inaccessible.
When your deletion request is processed, the following data is permanently removed:
Personal profile information (name, email, profile image, etc.)
Journal entries, notes, photos, documents, and voice recordings
Mood data, tags, and analytics
App settings and preferences
Subscription information and reminders
Exceptions:
Financial records related to payments or invoices may be retained for up to 10 years to comply with Swiss tax and accounting laws (Art. 958f OR).
Encrypted backup data will be overwritten during the next scheduled rotation cycle (within 90 days).
If you have connected Journya with other platforms (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, Apple Calendar), you must also revoke access in those platforms manually.
Journya cannot directly delete content stored on third-party services.
We maintain secure encrypted backups for operational reliability. Deleted user data is purged from backups automatically within 90 days.
Technical logs are anonymized before long-term storage.
If you change your mind, you can cancel a deletion request within 7 days by emailing pr*****@*****ya.com with the subject line “Cancel Deletion”.
After this period, recovery is no longer technically possible.
